Casner & Edwards has long held the advancement and development of its professionals as a core value of the firm. Over at least the last ten years, Casner’s women attorneys have advanced and succeeded based on merit and have substantially exceeded the national average of women equity partners, women non-equity partners and women attorneys overall within the firm. The firm ensures that leadership positions and advancement is merit-based. Casner also invests significant effort in increasing the visibility of our incredibly talented attorneys, with many of Casner’s women attorneys winning recognition both regionally and nationally. Casner’s efforts to foster a supportive environment start within the firm, with active and conscious efforts to ensure that barriers to professional growth are identified and removed. The firm is also firmly committed to recruiting, retaining, and advancing the careers of all of our attorneys, including women attorneys. We continue to work tirelessly toward a future in which opportunities are offered fairly and justly.
The Casner Women’s Initiative
Casner developed its Women’s Initiative in order to ensure a positive and supportive environment for all of the firm’s attorneys, initiated by the firm’s women attorneys and allies. Business development and networking are key components of the committee’s focus and committee members work to create and nurture new connections to support each other’s practices. The Women’s Initiative bridges internal and external opportunity and advancement efforts, by highlighting connections between Casner women attorneys and women-owned businesses, women clients, and women-led not-for-profit organizations and their allies.
The Women’s Initiative produces and oversees a number of programs, including:.
- Holds regular committee meetings where attorneys can exchange ideas and share strategies for success
- Hosts a variety of events to provide forums for interacting with businesses, corporate counsel, and various organizations in the region
- Holds educational programs that feature prominent business and community leaders
- Organizes social events for the firm’s women attorneys and their allies
- Supports charitable organizations that help women in need
