James (Jim) focuses his practice on commercial bankruptcies and litigation, out-of-court workouts, and business dispute resolution. Jim also handles a wide range of complex commercial and business litigation, including construction, securities, mergers & acquisitions, and partnership disputes.
Jim has represented and advised individuals and business lenders, borrowers, contractors, real estate developers, employers, insurance carriers, financial institutions, institutional and private equity investors, and bondholders regarding bankruptcy, receivership, and out-of-court workouts; employment litigation; business disputes and dissolutions; financing and capital transactions, and distressed entity/debt restructuring, sales, and acquisitions. He has extensive experience serving as a court-appointed receiver in state court insolvency proceedings, and is admitted in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and the U.S. District Courts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Prior to joining Casner & Edwards, Jim was an attorney at DarrowEverett LLP.
