BOSTON, MA, July 18, 2023 – Casner & Edwards announces that Suffolk University Law student Winnie Zambrano has joined the firm as a summer extern in Casner’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Externship Program. Casner’s Externship Program is designed to provide law students who are committed to DEI with hands-on experience of the practice of law at a mid-sized law firm. She began her semester-long term on June 5, 2023. 

Zambrano, a student at Suffolk University Law School, entering her third year this fall, was selected from a group of accomplished and talented candidates. Co-Managing Partner of Casner & Edwards and member of its DEI Committee, Michael F. Zullas said, “We are excited to welcome Winnie as our first summer extern. Her commitment to providing access to legal information and assistance to underserved, low-income communities throughout her life is particularly admirable and aligned with our firm’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.”

About Casner’s DEI Externship Program 
Casner’s DEI Externship Program offers a comprehensive curriculum that allows law students to rotate through the firm’s various practice areas, including bankruptcy, corporate, employment, family, litigation, nonprofit, real estate and trusts & estates law. During each rotation, the extern works side-by-side with partners and associates on pending matters, and at least one partner or senior associate from the practice area is the extern’s liaison and mentor. Casner also provides basic training on business aspects of a legal practice and includes the student in opportunities, both internally and externally, to gain experience and knowledge about the firm, its people and mid-size law firm practice. The program is part of Casner’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiative and is managed by the firm’s DEI Committee.
